So, our word of the day is>> INKHORN [ingk-hawrn]

Now, for all of you who don’t know what ‘ostentatious‘ means, it means:-

1. characterized by or given to pretentious or conspicuous show in an attempt to impress others: an ostentatious dresser.
2. (of actions, manner, qualities exhibited, etc.) intended to attract notice: Lady Bountiful’s ostentatious charity.

Ostentatious reminds me of quite a lot of us, almost all, who try to be someone who we are not. The question would be who not rather than who! Some can be categorized as ‘wannabes’, some as mere ‘followers’ and the rest simply imitate what’s ‘cool’. But, have we all forgotten that we, ourselves, are a genuine creation and that if we had paid attention to self then others would have, too! But, most of us are busy in checking out others, sometimes, so much that we forget that we are special ourselves! We have immense of potentials in store and if utilized to the fullest then we would have been the imitated and not the imitators…

I remember going to this one camp where the basic journey began by traveling in a train. there was this guy in ‘out-dated’ clothes and as for his looks, they were no better than his clothes. But, when he opened up his mouth to speak, I still remember, I was utterly flabbergasted; for he had an outstanding knowledge of things, his confidence level knew no heights yet he was simple and down-to-Earth, his observation powers were mind-blowing and his deducing and analytical skills- should I have a say on that, too? The outcome being that I instantly had a huge crush on him; he being like someone you would not even prefer to look at, but he was comfortable in his skin and he knew his positives. He had always worked on things he knew he could do and constantly improvised the same. The ramifications being that he became smart in his talks and street- smart in his own unique ways. It was later that I realized that I was not the only one who was flat on him totally!!

This is the thing; we have so many idols but ourselves that we forget our being and remain being a mere copy-cat or a carbon copy of someone!  Take a 180 on your daily tactics and pamper yourself a bit. Why not give the some significance to self and grow!?!
